    Derbyshire was in the spotlight at a prestigious reception for over 150 explorers, patrons and friends of the British Exploring Society – BES - at the Royal Geographic Society on Wednesday 15 February 2017. The event was hosted by HRH The Duke of York, Patron in Chief of the charity since 1983. Five students from schools in the Bolsover District attended the event - they were invited for their involvement in the Namibia Bound Expedition 2016 delivered by BES.

  • The Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining

    Around 120 youngsters, aged 12 to 14, took part in an Engineering Extravaganza organised by four professional engineering institutions as part of British Science Week and staged at the University of Sheffield Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre’s Knowledge Transfer Centre.

  • Treetops Hospice Care website

    With just £100 investments and plenty of ideas, 65 pupils from across three Derbyshire schools have raised over £1,200 for the charity Treetops Hospice Care.
