We manage the Raising Aspirations programme - from Derbyshire Public Health and managed by Bolsover District Council’s Partnership Team - to co-ordinate and deliver activities with targeted communities and schools to raise aspirations of young people and their families. It is a targetted employability programme providing specialist support to Year 10 and/or Year 11 students to help them develop skills, ideas and grow in confidence to achieve a positive post-16 progression of their choice.
One of the most important aspects of the programme is to give students the opportunity to engage with employers. Meeting employers and positive role models can be really motivational and helps the students understand the importance of what they are studying in school and what this can lead to.
