DEBP were finalists in the Outstanding Growth category at the East Midlands Chamber Derbyshire Business Awards 2019. In addition, they are part of the Made in Chesterfield campaign up for Business and Education Partnership Award.
Clare Talati, DEBP Director said, “It was fantastic to be up for the Outstanding Growth Award at the Derbyshire Business Awards 2019. We were recognised by HMRC in March this year as an organisation with potential to be among the top 10% of the fastest growing businesses in our area. We are incredibly proud of this and continue to look for opportunities to grow and develop the company further.”
The Made in Chesterfield campaign brings together businesses and employers with schools and education providers. It delivers hands on experience of the workplace for young people. Since its launch in 2014 it has resulted in over 3,000 young people from schools spending time in the area’s manufacturing and engineering businesses. The campaign is organised by Destination Chesterfield, DEBP and sponsored by the University of Derby,
Talking about Made in Chesterfield, Clare Talati said, “We have seen this initiative grow each year and we actively encourage all schools to get involved. Bringing the world of work to life for learners is at the core of what we aim to deliver and the commitment made by local businesses is fantastic.”
