Students will have the chance to take part in over 40 STEM-sational interactive activities. There will also be three pre-bookable shows.
The event encourages students to present their STEM projects. They get the chance to talk to STEM professionals about their work and take part in an awards ceremony to recognise their achievements.
The Armourers and Brasiers Tata Sixth Form Materials Prize, supported by the Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining, is a new competition designed to support schools in encouraging students to develop a sustained interest in STEM careers. It has been set up to give students structured opportunities to find out more about Materials Science and Engineering and enhance and enrich their studies.

Set in rural southern Zimbabwe where few villages have access to mains electricity, pupils investigate how to make different circuits which include solar cells. They then look at the requirements for electricity by different people in a community and make decisions on how a fixed amount of solar cells should be allocated based on needs.
