The above image is a collage of a two day STEM workshop made by the students involved in Formula 24. The two days started with the re-making of the nose cone for the car “Morpheus” to meet the new 2019 race regulations. A new steering wheel mechanism has been designed to work with the new throttle system. Some soldering was also carried out on the car’s wiring. New brake disks and brakes have been ordered to improve the safety of the car. The garage has been cleaned out for ease of putting up the new storage system, which is kindly being made by a school 6th former, as his final project.
STEM Ambassador, Ray Butchart has supported the school to expand knowledge on engineering, which has been really appreciated. The wheels have been adjusted to work with the new brakes and a new communication system has been decided on. This will help with the major communication problems encountered on previous races.
Ray was presented with a framed print as a thank you for his STEM and engineering support to the ‘Morpheus’ F24 Green Energy Project from all the team members.
